FREE NHS HEALTH CHECKS

This is available to patient aged between 40 and 74 years, who do not suffer from any of the following: Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke.

ANTENATAL CLINIC – Monday and Thursday afternoon (appointment only)

Expectant mothers are urged to attend as soon as they can after pregnancy is confirmed. The doctor and midwife will be present to ensure the pregnancy is satisfactory and to give advice and help.

WELL BABY IMMUNISATION CLINIC (Tuesday and Thursday afternoon)

Baby clinic by our Practice Nurses. This clinic is for well children. Sick children should be seen during surgery hours. Appointments for baby immunisation clinic are arrange and sent by Child Health.

WELL BABY CLINICS

Your Health Visitor will advise you on where your nearest well baby clinic is, this is where you will see a health visitor for advice and to have your baby weighed.

FAMILY PLANNING

The doctor and Practice Nurse offer family planning advice which is dealt within the course of a normal surgery. IUCD’S (coils) and the contraception implant currently are referred to the family planning clinic.

CERVICAL SMEARS

These should be done every 3 years for women under 50 years old anyone aged 50 and over every 5 years. Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse during normal surgery hours.

MINOR SURGERY

This is undertaken by appointment to avoid long waiting list at the hospital. A large variety of conditions can be quickly dealt with. The GP assess and then if the procedure can be done at the practice your name will be added to the list.
